A&T's attempt to relinquish UNCW's long winning streak comes up quickly

The team with the longest current streak in the country came to the Corbett Sports Center to play the North Carolina A&T Aggies men's basketball team Wednesday

the Aggies welcomed #ClubCorbett on Saturday, the group with the second-longest modern winning streak in the country within the UNC Wilmington Seahawks.

The Aggies had a lot to do with ending the Seahawks' winning streak before coming up short, 66-61. The Aggies fell to a 6-11 average

1-3 in the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) despite another stellar performance from sophomore Kam Woods.

Three days after scoring his career-high 30 against Charleston, Woods recorded 24 points on 6-of-9 shooting from 3-point range and 8-of-16 shooting from the field.

"We played great defense, but we failed to score the ball like we usually do," A&T head coach Phillip Shumpert said.

The element that hurt us was the neglected free throws. We were beaten by half five, but we missed 8 free throws and were outrebounded forty and 26

That's been our Achilles heel all year due to injuries of our two older guys. We've just been dominated on the glass."
