Bob Penny, 'Sweet Home Alabama' and 'Forrest Gump' Actor, Dies at 87

Actor Bob Penny, who played minor roles in the movies "Forrest Gump" and "Candy Domestic Alabama," has died.

enny became a lead actress in dozens of movies and television shows at some point in her long career dating back to the 1980s.

 Several of her film credits include "Mississippi Burning," "My Cousin Vinny" 

She played a "little dude" in "Forrest Gump" and a bumbling small-metropolis legal professional in "Sweet Home Alabama."

She also landed a role in the television series "Inside the Heat of the Night."

He began his acting career doing television classifieds for a local branch and advertising campaigns for The United Way.

“Then the movies started to come back,” Penny said in an interview with AL.Com in 2008. “I was very lucky. 

 I had these very small pieces of paper, but they sure helped me pay the mortgage.”
