Different: Tesla makes China the highest-profile head of government after Musk
Jan 3 (Reuters) - Chinese Tesla Inc (TSLA.O) chief Tom
Zhu has been promoted to take direct oversight of the electric carmaker's U.S.
Tesla's post confirmed that Zhu's name as vice president for more
China had not changed and that he also retained his duties as Tesla's chief
The move makes Zhu the highest-profile
government at Tesla after CEO Elon Musk, with direct oversight of deliveries in all its core markets
The reporting pressures for Zhu would keep Tesla's
vehicle design and development, both areas Musk has been
very concerned with,
Musk in the nearer-term challenges of
dealing with international income and production.
Reuters reviewed the organization chart that was published
internally with Tesla and confirmed the change with two people who had seen it
They have now asked not to be named because
they have not been authorized to discuss the issue.
Zhu and a group of his reviews of him filed
through Tesla late last year to fix production problems in the United States
