Mostert, Davison, Whincup again at the rear of the wheel

Several drivers loved their first stint behind the wheel in 2023 with the Gen3 prototypes playing the tunes at Queensland Raceway.

The single-day closed test session featured Jamie Whincup behind the wheel of the Camaro, and Davison and Chaz Mostert inside the Mustang.

Tickford Racing chief executive and team leader Tim Edwards and BJR engineer Phil Keed were also online on the website at the Ipswich headquarters.

The teams are currently in the process of finishing the build of their Supercars ahead of decent test days, which take place on February 7 (Winton) and February 9 (Ipswich).

An all-in test could be held at Sydney Motorsport Park on February 22 ahead of the first Gen3 races at the Thrifty Newcastle 500 on March 10-12.

Mostert, who drove a WAU ZB Commodore to victory before teammate Nick Percat in December's VALO Adelaide 500, was pleased to be flying the cobwebs

Davison first drove the Mustang prototype in January 2022, also at Queensland Raceway, just weeks after the cars were unveiled.

The Shell V-power Racing team driver, who returned to the winner's circle last year, said the feeling is unique every year with the new generation around the corner.
